Uganda Launches new Biosafety & Biosecurity Association

The IFBA is pleased to announce the creation of Uganda’s new Biosafety and Biosecurity Association (BBA-U). The Association was formally launched during a ribbon cutting ceremony in Kampala at the 1st Regional Biosafety & Biosecurity Conference held earlier this month. IFBA Program Coordinator, Dr. Michael Weaver, warmly welcomed the BBA-U into the growing community of biosafety associations in Africa. As a centre of excellence for promoting biosafety and biosecurity throughout Uganda, the new organization seeks to reduce risks to humans, animals and the environment from biological agents and toxins.
