IFBA Welcomes new Member from Lebanon

The International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA) is pleased to announce that the Lebanese Association for Biosafety, Biosafety and Bioethics (LABBB) has joined our global community of member biosafety associations. LABBB was initiated to promote biosafety, biosecurity and bioethics as scientific disciplines and serve the growing needs of biosafety professionals throughout Lebanon. The organization’s goals are to provide professional guidance for the interests and needs of all practitioners of biological safety as well as to provide an environment for the continued and timely exchange of biosafety information. We warmly welcome LABBB to our growing family and encourage you to please visit the LABBB’s website for further information.

International Biomedical Laboratory Science Day, April 15

In 1996 at the World Congress of the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science (IFBLS), the General Assembly of Delegates agreed to establish a world-wide Biomedical Laboratory Science Day. This day is to promote awareness of the key role played by laboratory professionals in the diagnosis of patients and research in the modern medical sciences. The theme for 2016 is "Patient Safety First".

Biomedical Laboratory Scientists are one of the largest groups of health-care professionals, yet their role in medicine is poorly understood. Patients, families and even colleagues within health care have a poor understanding of the vital role Biomedical Scientists have in medicine and public health. Please join the IFBA in raising awareness of the important contribution made by the profession.

Please visit the IFBLS’s website for further details on celebrating this important day.
