Mali Association for Biosafety & Biosecurity hosts Training Sessions in Bamako

The Mali Association for Biosafety & Biosecurity (MABB), in collaboration with the IFBA, hosted scientists and laboratorians from across the country for a week of hands-on training. Participants were put through their paces in responding to real-life spill scenarios, the proper use of personal protective equipment, and the packaging and shipment of infectious materials. The training is part of an overall 5 year effort by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), in consortium with Mali Heath and the Foundation Merieux, to assist the Government of Mali in achieving the goals of the Global Health Security Agenda to prepare for and respond to outbreaks of infectious disease. While in Bamako, the IFBA launched its Professional Certification examination in Biorisk Management for French-speaking MABB Members.
