Geofrey Jagero is a Senior Technical Advisor for Laboratory Systems at the Division of Global Health Protection, US CDC Kenya.
He provides technical expertise to the Ministry of health – Kenya towards building capacity and capability at the National Public Health Reference Laboratory (NPHRL) by strengthening of the national laboratory system and Biorisk management. This is to enhance Epidemic and pandemic Preparedness & Prevention through routine diagnostic services as well as surveillance of disease agents of public health concern. Previously a researcher at Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the pan African International Center of Insect Physiology & Ecology (ICIPE) on a wide range of tropical infectious disease agents, Geofrey has also responded locally and internationally to public health events of epidemic & pandemic nature including typhoid fever, Dengue fever, Yellow Fever, Chikungunya, Rift Valley Fever, Cholera, influenza, SARS-Cov2.
