The Conference offers the chance for the broader biosafety community to come together and discuss issues we all face on a day-to-day basis with our peers, specialists and experts in various fields, as well as representatives from the relevant regulatory bodies. It provides the opportunity to engage collaboratively on workable solutions that can have significant impacts on biorisk management. The face-to-face component also provides access to numerous exhibitors demonstrating new technologies and equipment, as well as better ways of refurbishing or building biocontainment facilities.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a heightened perspective to the management of biological hazards, and the biosafety arena has grown to encompass the everyday life of not just biosafety professionals but the community as a whole; in our workplaces, our local shopping precincts, and in our homes. It has influenced how we interact in our workplaces, with our friends, and even our close family members. Suddenly businesses had to develop and implement strategies to keep everyone safe and their doors open, and had to consider biosafety among their business continuity plans.
The past two years have seen enormous change and development across the biosafety community, meaning that this year, more than ever before, we gather to share our experiences and lessons learned.
Significantly, we welcome not just biosafety professionals, but anyone with a role, or interest in managing biological risks. We welcome you to make the most of the opportunity, in Adelaide, together.
