The International Federation of Biosafety Associations is pleased to announce that Dionysis Vourtsis, IFBA Communications officer and IFBA Certified Professional in Biorisk Management, has joined the Council of the European Biological Safety Association (EBSA). Founded in 1996, the EBSA provides a forum for its members from over 24 countries in Europe to discuss issues of concern in the field of biosafety and associated activities. Based in Athens, Greece, Dionysis is also a Past-President and the current Executive Director of the Hellenic Medical Laboratories Technologists Association (PETIE) where he has been championing the delivery of quality diagnostic services. He has been instrumental in the creation of a new Hellenic Biosafety Society serving as General Secretary for the organization. Dionysis is a passionate advocate for continued education and professional development in biosafety for laboratory technicians, technologists and biomedical scientists throughout Greece and the European region. Congratulations to Dionysis on this appointment and for his ongoing administration of IFBA’s social media platforms and delivery of the IFBA’s professional certification program in Europe.
