The International Federation of Biosafety Associations is pleased to welcome the ISTR UK Biosafety Association (UKBSA) to its growing network of Member Biosafety Associations.

ISTR (The Institute of Safety in Technology and Research), incorporating the UK Biosafety Association (UKBSA), is a membership organisation that was established in 1981, and has been serving safety professionals in technology and research across education, industry, government agencies, healthcare, and consultancy for over four decades. UKBSA is the only membership organisation in the UK with biosafety at its heart, it is the home for Biosafety Specialists in the UK.
The UK Biosafety Association’s role and mission is to:
• Act as a focal point/voice for the UK biosafety community.
• Represent the interests of UK Biosafety professionals nationally and internationally.
• Develop and prepare guidance, on biosafety-related topics, often in partnership with the UK Government Safety Regulator.
• Organise and provide Conferences, Webinars, Symposia and Networking Opportunities for all Biosafety professionals and stakeholders in the UK.
• Oversee and continue the development of the existing and successful ISTR Biosafety Accreditation scheme.

We are a friendly and supportive community that welcomes new members at any time.
