Dale Howard’s experience in the management of an ISO17025 accredited laboratory led him to Opira, an organisation maintaining the biosafety controlled environments in many Australian laboratories and cleanrooms.

This exposure to the performance requirements for the range of physical containment level laboratories and biosafety cabinets piqued his interest in Biosafety Management leading to certification under the IFBA program. As a member of the Association of Biosafety for Australia and New Zealand (ABSANZ) his exposure to the operational issues and industry advancements has encouraged his continuing interest. Dale is currently promoting Opira’s research into Operating Theatre performance and is interested in decontamination method validation and improving the standard test methodologies to certify critical cleanroom and biocontainment laboratories.
