Sustainable Cost-Effective Laboratories

The IFBA is working together with Germfree to develop sustainable solutions for biocontainment laboratories in resource limited countries. Collaborative studies and projects are intended to inform the ongoing international community of best practices towards risk-based laboratory facilities that are engineered to be energy efficient, durable, cost-effective and locally maintained. Innovative engineering and architectural features are under development to maximize the use of natural ventilation for different climatic conditions worldwide.
