IFBA in the ASEAN Region

The IFBA has partnered with Global Affairs Canada and the ASEAN Secretariat to advance sustainable biosafety and biosecurity in laboratories throughout the Southeast Asian region. The project encompasses several complementary activities to strengthen local capacity including:

• Expanding the network of certified professionals handling biological materials in the region
• Implementing cost-effective validation methods for biological safety cabinets in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Biosafety Association and NSF International
• Developing institutional models for strengthening biorisk management based on locally available resources
